Welcome to the tourist office

The Wikivoyage tourist office is a place where you can ask travel-related questions about any place in the world. Wikivoyage volunteers will do their best to find the relevant information (or just reply off the top of their expert heads) and reply to you.

Before you ask your question here, be sure to search our travel guide for the destination or topic you're considering. Many questions are already answered within our guides! In addition, some of our destinations have docents who have volunteered to answer questions about specific places. If neither of those avenues bear fruit, then please ask away!

This page is for travel-related questions only. Information on how to contribute to Wikivoyage is at Help:Contents, while questions about Wikivoyage itself may be posed at the Pub. Queries regarding general information on non-travel topics may be made at Wikipedia's Reference desk; some topics tangentially related to travel include:

  • the Humanities desk, which deals with geopolitics, culture, and human geography
  • the Science desk, which deals with natural processes, physical geography, and engineering (vehicles, transportation design, etc.)

Please note that we can not guarantee a response and can not be held liable for incorrect or outdated information.

Answered questions will be moved to the Archives after two weeks of inactivity.

Want a faster answer?

How can I get my question answered?

  • Explain clearly what you want to know.
  • Provide a short heading that gives the general topic of the question.
  • Tell us what part of the world your question applies to.
  • Don't post personal contact information – it will be removed. We'll answer here within a few days.
  • Don't post questions that common sense or a search engine can answer in a couple of seconds.

French history attractions or tours in Detroit

[edit]

Hi,

My question is about Detroit, Michigan. Are there historical attractions or tours related to the (brief) French history of Detroit?

Asked by: IanfromToronto (talk) 16:03, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This history is mentioned at Voyageurs, but no detail is given. Pashley (talk) 16:21, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Thanks for the information, Pashlely! :) IanfromToronto (talk) 16:56, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Most-visited amusement parks in New York

[edit]

I'm trying to find a list of the most-visited amusement parks in New York State, but I'm coming up empty. The most authoritative source only seem to list the top 20 in North America, none of which is in New York. Seems like there'd be a list *somewhere*. Ternate Molukken Reiseführer

[edit]

We, a married couple from Austria, will spend two days in Ternate, Spice Islands Indonesia in October 2024. On one day we plan a tour to different spice plantations, on the other we want to explore the sights of the island. We already have a relatively precise travel plan. In order to fulfill this requirement, however, we are looking for a local guide to drive us around by car. A designated tour guide is therefore not necessary. Basic knowledge of English and local knowledge are sufficient Asked by: Erich G.85.127.88.118 09:24, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That is Ternate, Maluku, Indonesia. We don't act as driver agent, but perhaps somebody around could give some tips. –LPfi (talk) 09:37, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Norway Hotel Television Channel List

[edit]

I have tried contacting the hotel directly. They are confused by the question and unable to provide an answer.

I will be in Norway for an extended stay. I want to know if the hotel carries the V-Sport+ channel. All the website states is that it has large televisions. So, as an alternative, I'm looking for cable and satellite channel listings for the Tromso area. Then, I can see if the hotel is using either one. So, is there an English resource that I can use to identify which carriers in Tromso have the V-Sport+ channel? Asked by: 75.136.148.8 12:27, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
