LOS ANGELES - The Fresno State water polo team earned six Golden Coast Conference all-conference recognitions as the conference office announced the awards on Tuesday ahead of the 2024 championship tournament.

Hailey Andress, Paula Nieto Jasny and Abbey Simshauser headlined the Bulldogs' picks as first team selections. Brooke Ochoa was named to the second team while Cynthia Rosa earned honorable mention honors. Caitlyn Mossman was named to the GCC All-Freshman team.

Andress, who was a second team selection and the conference newcomer of the year a season ago, earns first team recognition in 2024 after recording a team-high 65 goals. She also added 20 assists and 45 steals. Andress was added to the Cutino Award watch list earlier this season, the award recognizing the top players in collegiate water polo. The sophomore Bulldog became the fastest player in program history to score 100 career goals as she sits with 117 in her two years here.

Nieto Jasny closes out her career with her third career all-conference recognition and second-straight first team nod. Nieto Jasny  was the Bulldogs' primary keeper this season, playing 594:22 minutes and recording 169 saves on the year with a 14-7 record. She had a .538 save percentage on the season. The senior had a 7.81 goals against average, the third-lowest in the conference. Fresno State was 16-2 when allowing nine or fewer goals on the year, a large part due to Nieto Jasny's efforts.

In her first year as a Bulldog, Simshauser has been a tremendous addition for the program. She leads the 'Dogs with 91 points by 63 goals and 28 assists. She also has worked for 37 drawn exclusions and 45 steals. Her 45 steals are the third-most among all players in the conference. Her GCC recognitions are the first of her Bulldog career, but not the first of her collegiate career. She had a decorated start to her career at Wagner College, earning all-conference honors in 2022 and 2023.

Ochoa, the Bulldogs' lone second team honoree, sees her third year with an all-conference recognition in 2024. This season, she scored 40 goals and 38 assists. She also added 31 drawn exclusions and 32 steals. In conference play alone, Ochoa led the team with 19 goals and 11 assists, while adding 14 drawn exclusions and 11 steals.

Rosa earned all-conference honors for the first time since her freshman campaign. The recognition is well-deserved as she continued her success in the sprints this season. Rosa finished the regular season with a 70-6 sprint win-loss record for a .921 win percentage. She led the conference in both categories. Rosa also added 13 goals and 19 assists on the season, to go along with 23 drawn exclusions and 16 steals.

Freshman Mossman appeared in just 16 games this season, but made an impact in those games as she totaled 16 goals, 14 drawn exclusions and six steals. Mossman was one of four true freshmen to see the pool for the Bulldogs at any point this season.

The Bulldogs head to Santa Clara for the 2024 Golden Coast Conference championship this weekend. All tournament information can be found on the Tournament Central website.
