Rights for authors

Permission from The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Inc. (JBJS) is not required for the following uses—

If you are an author of the article,
and
JBJS is clearly identified as the copyright holder
and
the use is entirely non-commercial, you may:

  • post a PDF of the article on a personal or institutional website, or place it in the institutional repository of your academic institution
  • make a photocopy for personal use
  • copy the article for the use of your own patients
  • use your article in an academic dissertation required to obtain an academic degree

Authors that have published articles in The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Inc. (JBJS) do not have to request permission for certain content providing their request fulfills the conditions detailed in the Author's Permission Document. For further information, please also refer to your Copyright Transfer Agreement that you have signed at the time of submission.
