Abstract
Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis and continues to increase in prevalence with the aging population. This degenerative disease process involves a complex interaction of several factors including inflammation, genetics, joint structure, mechanical stresses, and cellular processes. This chapter discusses the fundamental pathogenesis, clinical findings, and treatment modalities of osteoarthritis.
