Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), quickly developed into a global pandemic in 2020 and has since caused hundreds of millions of infections and is linked to millions of deaths around the globe.
Publishing research on COVID-19 is essential to understanding, among other aspects, how it affects a wide range of patients, how the disease can best be managed, and how it interacts with other diseases in hopes that the insights gained can contribute to overcoming the pandemic.
INFECTION has dedicated a collection of all publications in the journal addressing SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19 to ensure that all relevant research can easily be found in one place. The steadily growing collection includes a wide range of article categories from original papers and reviews to reports and correspondences.
The article collection on COVID-19 is open to submissions. Manuscripts addressing COVID-19 can be submitted to the journal and will be added to the collection upon online publication. All submissions on COVID-19 are subject to the same rigorous peer review practices that all submissions to the journal undergo.
