Chung-Ju Rachel Wang
Areas of expertise Meiosis, Recombination, chromosome biology, super-resolution microscopy CJ. Rachel Wang is an Associate Research Fellow (equivalent to Associate Professor) at the Institute of Plant and Microbial Biology (IPMB), Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan. She completed her BS and PhD at National Taiwan University and conducted post-doctoral work at UC Berkeley. Her lab focuses on molecular mechanisms of meiotic cell cycle control and meiotic recombination in maize. Using genetics, cell biology, biochemistry, omics, and super-resolution imaging technology, she aims to understand how meiosis is initiated and how meiotic recombination is achieved, with the goal of accelerating crop improvements. Editorial experience Frontiers in Plant Genetics and Genomics, Guest Associate Editor (2014), Review Editor, (2015-); International Journal of Molecular Sciences, Guest Editor (2020-); Plant Cell, Guest Editor (2021-) Honors and awards include Career Development Award for Junior Research Investigators (Academia Sinica); Shang Fa Yang Young Scientist Award (Academia Sinica); Innovative Research Award (Professor Chiu-Lung Lin Foundation) |
