The IT Center provides numerous software products for the institutes and members of RWTH. We strive to acquire software at favorable prices by bundling licenses for several institutions and concluding license agreements so that we can then pass this price advantage on to the institutions of RWTH Aachen University.

For these products, the IT Center takes care of:

  • The contractual matters with the respective companies
  • License renewal of the software updates
  • Provision of the software updates

The IT Center usually pre-finances the license agreements. Subsequently, the license fees are allocated to the institutes according to the scope of use.

The network licenses are provided and monitored by one of our license servers.

 

Change of Software Store at RWTH Aachen University

Due to the self-administered insolvency proceedings of asknet Solutions AG, RWTH has decided to terminate the current contract on 25.03.2024.

During the procurement of a new system, the IT Center will offer an interim solution with the most important functionalities: AcadCloud from SoftwareOne will start on 26.03.2024 with limited functions.

There will be two interim stores in future. One for RWTH employees and one for RWTH students. However, all members of RWTH can view the products on offer in both stores. Login takes place via the RWTH Single Sign-On.

Place an Order

Employees can order software for use at RWTH institutions. The prerequisite is the role "Bestellung IT" and the specification of a PSP element in the order and payment process. Each organizational unit is also responsible for assigning the "Bestellung IT" role to one or more employees via role management.

Students can obtain software for use as part of their studies. The prerequisite is the status "Student" in the RWTH's Identity Management; no PSP elements need to be entered.
