Members of this family average 800 amino acids in length, resemble VirB4 of type IV secretory systems, and appear to be involved in DNA transfer as by conjugative transposons or plasmids. Member proteins include CD630_11100 (CD1110), CD630_18560 (CD1856), and CD630_04180 (CD0418) from the model strain Clostridium difficile 630, and gbs1135 from the Enterococcus faecalis conjugative plasmid pCF10.

Members of this family are restricted to the Mycoplasmatota, and average about 325 amino acids in length. An invariant Cys residue at position 32 suggests that members may be lipoproteins.

Members of this family, restricted to the Mycoplasmatota, resemble trigger factor (see TIGR00115) more than it resembles other chaperones such as SurA, and appears along with trigger factor, as a paralog, in Mycoplasmopsis species such as M. iners, M. columbina, M. phocirhinis, M. alligatoris, etc.

Members of this family, restricted to the Mycoplasmatota, resemble 5-amino-6-(5-phospho-D-ribitylamino)uracil phosphatase YcsE from Bacillus subtilis, a HAD family phosphatase that can perform a dephosphorylation step to complete the bioysnthesis of riboflavin. Members are nearly always encoded next to an Mycoplasmatota-only enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of FAD from riboflavin and related to other FAD synthetases.

DNA-directed RNA polymerase subunit delta
Members of this family are variant forms of DNA-directed RNA polymerase subunit delta that are typical in Mycoplasmas and related species. Most members of this family score below cutoffs for the more general model TIGR04567 for detection of that protein in low-GC Gram-positive species and some of the Mycoplasmas.

This HMM describes a core region shared by members of TIGR03490 and an additional, broader set of surface lipoproteins of the Mycoplasmatota. Although this model is largely redundant with TIGR03490, the high variability of surface lipoproteins in the lineage makes this HMM helpful in their classification.
