FDU Cross Country Team Competes at NEC Championships

The men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at the 2021 NEC Championships on Saturday, Oct. 30 in New Britain, Connecticut.

For the men’s 8k event, Central Connecticut placed first with a total of 28 points. Wagner and Merrimack placed second and third. The Knights finished in ninth overall with a total time of 2:37:37.50.

Graduate student Shevan Parks led the Knights with a time of 30:47.70, finishing in 57th place out of 93 runners.

For the 5k women’s event, Central Connecticut placed first with a total of 32 points. LIU and Saint Francis placed second and third. The Knights finished in tenth overall with a total time of 2:01:04.40.

Graduate student Jazmyn Lewis led the Knights with a team-best time of 22:38.40, finishing in 77th place out of 87 runners.

The cross country teams will prepare for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals on Friday, Nov. 12 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
