This resource center provides basic information regarding subscription options, purchasing a subscription, accessing subscribed content, and using subscribed content.
Available Formats
Individuals may purchase online-only subscriptions or print + online subscriptions to any of our 27 journals. (The following journals are online only: Case Studies in Sport and Exercise Psychology, Case Studies in Sport Management, Journal for the Measurement of Physical Behaviour, Journal of Electronic Gaming and Esports, and Women in Sport and Physical Activity Journal.) Online-only subscriptions can be purchased via this site, while print + online subscriptions must be placed directly with our customer service team using our subscription request form. Both options allow subscribers full access to the journal’s authoritative content and online access to digital archives of back issues as well as Ahead of Print content for the subscribed journal (where available). Additionally, you have the option to purchase either a 1-year or 2-year subscription, and can select a rate based on student status.
Purchasing a Subscription
Online Subscriptions
Individuals may purchase online-only subscriptions directly from this website. To order, navigate to the journal of interest (view our journals here) and click on the title of any article. Then, from the article page, select the subscription option you desire (individual or student, 1-year or 2-year). Those purchasing student subscriptions must be prepared to provide proof of student status as a degree candidate at an accredited institution. Online-only subscriptions purchased via this website provide immediate access to all the journal's content, including all archives and Ahead of Print. All online purchases are processed by PayPal.
Print + Online Subscriptions
Individuals wishing to purchase a subscription with a print component (print + online) must contact our customer service team directly to place the order. Use our subscription request form to place your order!

Accessing Your Subscribed Content
Online Access
All individual subscriptions provide online access to the journal's content, including all archives and Ahead of Print content. Subscribers purchasing an online-only subscription via this website have immediate access to all the journal's content. Subscribers purchasing a print + online subscription will be granted access to the journal's online content after the order is successfully processed, and will be contacted via e-mail with log-in details when the subscription is active. Subscribers need to be logged in to the site (using the username/e-mail address that was used to place the order) in order to view subscribed content.
Print Access
Subscribers purchasing a print + online subscription will receive the next print issue available after the order is successfully processed; subscribers ordering a print + online subscription must use our subscription request form to order so that the subscription period is appropriately applied based on the frequency of the print issues for the journal.
Access Via Society
Some societies offer online access to our journal content via a referring URL, which can only be accessed through the society's secure member log-in. Your society should alert you if this type of access is used and can provide guidance for accessing the content included with your membership.
Making the Most of Your Subscription
Our web platform provides features to help you make the most of your subscription. Subscription FAQs
How do I know when my subscription ends?
To view your subscriptions, log in to this website using the credentials you established when making your purchase. After a successful log in, navigate to "My Stuff" at the top of the page, and then select "My Orders". Your subscribed content will be listed alongside its start and end dates. Additionally, you should receive a renewal e-mail when your subscription is nearing its end.
How much is a subscription?
Subscription prices vary for each journal, based on publication frequency, content, and your chosen format. To view a price list for a journal, visit that journal's overview page. First, visit our Journals page to select the journal of interest, which will direct you to the journal overview page, where pricing can be found.
Do I qualify for a student subscription?
Those purchasing student subscriptions must be prepared to provide proof of student status as a degree candidate at an accredited institution.
I am a member of a professional society. Do I receive a reduced rate?
Human Kinetics does partner with some societies to offer subscriptions to select journals at reduced rates. Contact us or your society membership office for details.
