Contaminanti nella catena alimentare

Il gruppo di esperti scientifici sui contaminanti nella catena alimentare (CONTAM) fornisce consulenza scientifica sui contaminanti nella catena alimentare e sulle sostanze indesiderabili come sostanze tossiche naturali, micotossine e residui di sostanze non autorizzate.

I membri del gruppo scientifico CONTAM sono scienziati di tutta Europa competenti in:

  • Chimica: chimica organica, inorganica e analitica; trasformazione di alimenti e mangimi nel campo dei contaminanti chimici
  • Valutazione dell’esposizione: è necessaria comptenza soprattutto in relazione alla valutazione dell'esposizione alimentare di contaminanti chimici comprese conoscenze di sondaggi sui consumi di alimenti
  • Tossicologia umana e veterinaria ( nella valutazione del rischio da sostanze chimiche): assorbimento, distribuzione, metabolismo, escrezione (ADME) di sostanze (tossicocinetica e tossicodinamica), tossicità sub-cronica e cronica (studi a somministrazioni ripetute, genotossicità e mutagenicità, tossicità dello sviluppo e riproduttiva, cancerogenicità, allergenicità e immunotossicità.
  • Prove tossicologiche su animali da esperimento: interpretazione degli effetti tossici dei contaminanti chimici in animali da allevamento e da compagnia
  • Epidemiologia:biomarcatori degli effetti ed esposizione e interpretazione dei dati umani)
  • Statistica: valutazione degli effetti dose-risposta, ad esempio modellazione basata sulla dose di riferimento e analisi (epidemiologica) di insiemi di dati complessi
  • Alimentazione animale: valutazione dell’esposizione animale.
