University of Florida Foundation

What We Do

The UF Foundation was founded in 1934 to strengthen, benefit and assist the University of Florida. It supports the work of UF Advancement as the university’s fundraising and fund management partner. We help connect donors with their passions through the university and serve as a fiduciary, preserving institutional assets and resources while ensuring sound, ethical and legal governance.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (Tax ID #59-0974739) and an institutionally related foundation, we help provide revenue through private resources and serve as a philanthropic and entrepreneurial partner to the university. The UF Foundation is essential to the financial sustainability, institutional integrity and educational excellence of the university, fueling UF’s land-grant mandate of serving the public good via research, education and public engagement.

To promote the University, increase philanthropy, manage and grow the endowment, ensure the appropriate use of funds and pursue best governance practices.
