In 2021, the country with the highest share of health spending relative to its gross domestic product (GDP) in Latin America and the Caribbean was Cuba, with 14 percent. It was followed by Argentina, Brazil, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Panama, with approximately 10 percent of its GDP spent on healthcare, each. Meanwhile, Haiti reported the lowest health spending relative to its GDP in the region that year, which reached the equivalent of around three percent.
