Computerized adaptive testing

- The CISSP exam uses something called adaptive testing technology. Adaptive testing just means that the test adapts or adjusts to your skill and knowledge level as you answer questions correctly or incorrectly. If you're answering questions correctly, the exam software will give you harder and harder questions. If you're not doing well, the questions may it easier. During this process, the testing software statistically analyzes your responses to determine whether you meet the standard for passing the exam. Now, this approach comes with good news and bad news. The good news is that your exam will be much shorter than the older non-adaptive exams. Before the change to adaptive testing, the CISSP exam was six hours long and everyone answered 250 questions. Now the exam is half the length. You have three hours to answer between 100 and 150 questions. The bad news is that the adaptive nature of the exam means that you can't skip around.
